We are happy to announce that two certified Green Films have been selected for the 73rd Berlin International Film Festival, which will take place from 16 to 26 February with a rich programme.
The Encounters section – featuring independent and innovative filmmakers – includes the debut film by Finnish director Tia Kouvo, FAMILY TIME, produced by Aamu Film Company (Compartment No. 6, The True Story of Olli Mäki).
It is the first Finnish certified Green Film: the Green Manager was Kaisa “Kaika” Astikainen, one of the author of the sustainable production guide Ekosetti.
The film was developed in 2021 as part of FeatureLab, winning the TorinoFilmLab Production Award and also the Green Filming Award in support of sustainable production.
Family Time is a bitingly humorous study of family dynamics.
The Generation Kplus section hosts LE PROPRIETÀ DEI METALLI (The Properties of Metals) by Antonio Bigini, excellent start for a director at his debut, selected together with other important contemporary films that explore the lives and worlds of children and adolescents.
Le proprietà dei metalli is produced by Kiné in collaboration with Rai Cinema, with the support of Emilia-Romagna Film Commission and Toscana Film Commission, developed thanks to “Biennale College – Cinema” of the Venice International Film Festival and with the contribution of Creative Europe MEDIA Programme.
We wish these two productions all the best and may it be for them the start of a long journey around the world!
