New Green Film certified releases in Spring

Spring is coming… When everything gets greener it is also time to wake up from the winter’s slumber, leave our dens and enjoy the spring’s breeze and the warmer weather. Films also are getting greener, thanks to the Green Film. In fact, this Spring we will see in theatres 7 movies that took at heart the environmental cause and have applied our sustainability program in order to obtain the GREEN FILM Certification label
Here are the 7 productions certified Green Film, to which we wish big success and a long journey in cinemas. 

IL NIBBIO

Directed by Alessandro Tonda and with Claudio Santamaria, Sonia Bergamasco, Anna Ferzetti and Fethi Nouri, “Il Nibbio” will be released in cinemas on the 6th of march. The film is coproduced by Notorius Pictures with Rai Cinema and Tarantula Belgique, in collaboration with Netflix and Alkon Communications.

The film recounts the twenty-eight days leading up to the tragic events of the 4th of March 2005. Nicola Calipari, a senior SISMI (secret military services) executive, sacrificed his own life to save that of Giuliana Sgrena, a journalist working for “The Manifesto”, that was kidnapped in Iraq by a terrorist cell. 

IL MIGLIORE DEI MALI

Directed by Violetta Rovetto, the film is in theatres from March 6th. Adapted from the 2019 graphic novel Il migliore dei mali – L’uomo di latta by Rovetto. Coproduction between Italy, Slovenia and Poland, and produced by Solaria Film, Minerva Pictures, ArsMedia, Agresywna Banda, and Rai Cinema.  

1997, Southern Italy, five kids grappling with the disappearance of a dog, and a chemical industry full of hidden truths in the background. An adventure between the genres “detective story” and “fantasy” where the mysterious events occurring around the kids and the town will bring them face to face with “the best of evils”. 

AGO

Presented at the Festa del Cinema di Roma, this documentary will be released in cinemas as a 3-day event release on the 10th, 11th and 12th of March. Directed by Giangiacomo De Stefano. Distributed by Adler Entertainment and produced by Sonne Film and K+

Through unpublished archives and exclusive testimonies, “Ago” recounts the life of the greatest motorbike racer in history. A tale that outlines a character who represented motor sport at its highest level and who carries the bravado and recklessness of the riders of the past. At the same time, Giacomo Agostini was able to survive a dangerous sport, knowing how to manage his notoriety and being able to look back with the tranquility and lucidity of one who realises he was the best. 

U.S. PALMESE

The renown Manetti Bros. are back in cinemas on 20th of March with this lighthearted comedy after its Festa del Cinema di Roma premiere. Produced by Mompracem with the participation of Rai Cinema, the film features Rocco Papaleo, Claudia Gerini, Blaise Afonso and Giulia Maenza.  

A fan proposes to sign Etienne Morville (a former Milan player and a French champion) to the local football club. Morville was kicked out of the Lombardy team at the height of his career, mainly because of his bad temper. In the midst of personal and professional decline, Etienne experiences a moment of deep discomfort. Palmese’s offer, made possible by the crowdfunding by the townspeople, will be the opportunity for redemption that will restore his passion for football. 

MUORI DI LEI

With Riccardo Scamarcio, Mariela Garriga and Maria Chiara Giannetta, the film, directed by Stefano Sardo, will be released in theatres from March 20th. A coproduction between Italy and Serbia, and produced by Nightswim, Medusa Film, and Film House Bas Celik.   

Set during the Covid-19 pandemic, the story follows high school teacher Luca and his crumbling marriage with Sara, a renowned doctor. Alone and with lots of free time, Luca finds himself attracted by Amanda, his new young neighbor. But when his attraction prevails and the distance between them is broken, terrifying consequences will follow. 

MANI NUDE

Directed by Mauro Mancini and with Alessandro Gassmann, the film will be released on 27th March distributed by Eagle Pictures. “Mani Nude” is produced by Eagle Original Content, Pepito Produzioni, Movimento Film and Rai Cinema.   

Davide Bergamaschi, a teenager from an important family, one night is kidnapped and thrown by force into the world of clandestine fights, where he is forced to spill blood to stay alive. In this cruel underground world, his kidnapper takes a likeness in him and sees his potential as a strong fighter. In a world where all rules are subverted in the name of death and money, their solitudes meet. Davide will abandon his identity to transform himself into Batiza, the fiercest of fighters. His master will teach him to kill, but above all, to survive.

HO VISTO UN RE

Coproduced by Italy and France, and produced by Stemal Entertainment, Les Films d’Ici, Rai Cinema, the film was directed by Giorgia Farina. Available in theatres from the 30th of April, after its premiere at the Torino Film Festival.

In a world where a child’s imagination can subvert reality, Emilio finds in his unexpected friendship with an Ethiopian warrior, the key to discovering himself and the world around him.
