The 9th edition of the MIA | International Audiovisual Market to be held in Rome from October 9th to 13th, will be once again certified as a sustainable event, thanks to the partnership with Trentino Film Commission and Green Film.
For the fifth year, MIA is committed to increasing and improving activities serving the film industry by embracing the values of environmental, social and economic sustainability.
From 2019, the organizers of MIA, ANICA and APA, supported by Trentino Film Commission, have undertaken the path to obtain ISO 20121 certification, the international standard for the certification of sustainable management systems for events. The choice has been made, taking into consideration that media and audiovisual productions are an important tool for raising awareness among the general public and for spreading environmentally virtuous behaviour.
All aspects of the MIA event respect sustainability criteria. As a plus, projects selected in the MIA’s Co-Production Market & Pitching Forum (for the Doc, Drama and Film divisions) are given the opportunity of a one-on-one appointment with an expert of the Green Film environmental sustainability certification.
Thursday, 12th October, at 5:30 p.m (at Cinema Barberini) there will be the event:
Green, white and red: how to accelerate the industry’s transition? An open meeting of Italian industry stakeholders to discuss together the sustainable transition in the audiovisual sector. Starting from the public consultation process promoted by Green Film, the aim is to bring together different inputs and needs to address this issue more effectively, also looking at particular production processes such as animation production.
Guests: representatives of APA, ANICA, APE, CGIL, CISL, UIL.
Last but not least, a Green Film Lab workshop will be hosted by MIA Oct. 13-15. During the first day of the Green Film Lab workshop on Friday, Oct. 13, an open session on sustainable production will be offered to 30 Mia Market accredited participants, free of charge.
Green Film Lab is a program by TorinoFilmLab and Green Film, organized by the National Cinema Museum and Trentino Film Commission, in collaboration with EAVE.
