GREEN FILMING AWARD 2024

During the awards ceremony of the 17th TFL Meeting Event, the GREEN FILMING AWARDS 2024 were assigned. 
The prize, now in its fifth edition, is the result of the collaboration between Torino Film Lab, Trentino Film Commission and Green Film and is awarded to producers who demonstrate the greatest commitment to making their projects more sustainable. 
The aim is to encourage sustainable actions on the production set.   

The Green Filming Awards, consisting of a contribution of €4,000 for the implementation of sustainable production, were awarded to three projects from the FeatureLab.  
Here the 3 Winners:

  • Antonivka by Kateryna Gornostai (Writer & Director, Ukraine) and Vika Khomenko (Producer, Ukraine) – 2nd feature film;

SYNOPSIS 
In a near future, after the war ends with a victory for 
Ukraine, young couple Aurora and Darko move in with 
her blind grandfather, Anton, after his stroke. Despite 
her initial reluctance, they adapt to life in his countryside 
home, surrounded by ghosts of war and signs of recent 
occupation…

  • Cold Ashes Can Cause Forest Fires by Ashmita Guha Neogi (Writer & Director, India) and Avantika Singh Desbouvries (Producer, India) – 1st feature film.

At an off-season hotel, arrival of old family 
friends throws Uma (13) headlong into the 
adult’s world of lies and secrets. 


SYNOPSIS 
Uma (13) lives alone with her father, Milind who manages 
a colonial hotel in a secluded town in the Himalayas. Her 
mother left them a few months ago without any promise of 
a return. Uma blames Milind for her mother’s departure and 
is resentful towards him. During the Christmas holidays, 
off-season at the hotel, old family friends visit to give them 
company.

SYNOPSIS 
Minsk, 2020: the country stands on the brink of revolution. 
Pavel (25) has distanced himself from the Lukashenko 
regime, which his father Jan (55) had supported for 
decades as a deputy district chief. Pavel’s friend Stepan 
(26), an activist, urges him to take action, but Pavel fears 
consequences for his family. After the manipulated 
election results, he can no longer hold back and takes to 
the streets.
