Fred, a lively and brave seventeen-year-old Swede, arrives in town to spend her last year of high school. She finds herself being the only girl in a class of boys and captures everyone’s attention, particularly that of three friends: Antero, charming and reserved; Pasini, a theatrical seducer; and Mitis, a sarcastic good-natured guy. The three have always belonged to each other. Fred’s arrival disrupts their homogeneity, putting their friendship to the test. While each of the boys secretly desires her for himself, Fred wants to be accepted into the group, but she is constantly asked to sacrifice something of herself to become one of them.
