A filmmaker is asked to make a documentary about the Emilian Rhine, namesake of the famous German river on whose banks Wagner set the Rheingold. But what gold could possibly be hiding in his homeland? In a journey from source to mouth, he will gradually immerse himself in the present and past stories that the river holds, finally discovering himself part of a collective memory.
