When experienced homicide boss Maj Lorentzen (Anne Louise Hassing) gets a thrombus due to stress, she changes her life and moves to Hvide Sande to find peace and to restore her relationship with her adult daughter (Frederikke Dahl Hansen) and her grandson who live in the city.
But one of Hvide Sande’s leading figures is murdered and after a month the investigation stalls. The local policeman, Bjørn (Allan Hyde), then tries to convince Maj to help him solve the murder. As Maj tries to settle near the North Sea and cautiously approaches her daughter, the murder case and her old profession attract her, and soon she and Bjørn are on the trail of a murderer in Hvide Sande.
