Thanks to its partnership with the Trentino Film Commission, the eighth edition of MIA | International Audiovisual Market, to be held in Rome from 11 to 15 October 2022, will be eco-friendly for the fourth year.
In addition to increasing and improving its activities at the service of the industry, MIA also embraces the values of environmental, social and economic sustainability.
In 2019, the organisers of MIA, ANICA and APA, embarked on the path to the ISO 20121 certification, the international standard for the certification of sustainable event management systems, which will also be reconfirmed for the event’s eighth edition.
The decision to pursue this path, coordinated by the company Punto 3, was also driven by the understanding that all media and audiovisual productions are an important tool for raising awareness among the general public on sustainability issues and for disseminating environmentally virtuous behaviours. Thanks to the synergy that began four years ago, the eighth edition of MIA also showcases a variety of innovations aimed at producers and sector professionals to promote eco-sustainability on set in a practical way.

For the first time this year, the projects selected within the Co-Production Market & Pitching Forum of the MIA (for the Doc, Drama and Film categories) are given the opportunity of one-on-one meetings with an expert from the Green Film environmental sustainability certification, issued to audiovisual productions realised by adopting solutions that reduce the impact on the environment.
In addition, short videos with useful and practical suggestions to reduce the environmental impact of audiovisual productions will be shown on the MIA screens.
Finally, the panel entitled Green crews for a greener planet, organised by MIA in partnership with the Trentino Film Commission, will be held on 13 October at 12.30 pm, at the Multisala Barberini, with the participation of Luca Ferrario (Director of Trentino Film Commission), Angelica Cantisani (TorinoFilmLab Programmes Coordinator), Serena Alfieri (Vivo Film) and Julia Tordai (Greeneyes Productions). The panel, with its practical focus, will explore the possibilities connected to sustainable production by showcasing training opportunities for producers and green managers, and by analysing a concrete case study.
